A Modified Hough Transform For Detecting Lines In Digital Imagery

Arthur V. Forman · Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE · 1986

A variation on the Hough technique for the detection of lines in digital imagery is presented. The proposed parameterization of the Hough space fully exploits the available image resolution. Results are presented illustrating the utility of the approach for finding roads in aerial FLIR (forward-looking infrared) imagery. Finally, a parallel implementation of the algorithm is outlined.
