Abstract Let "Equation missing" be a real reflexive Banach space, let "Equation missing" be a closed convex subset of "Equation missing", and let "Equation missing" be an "Equation missing"-accretive operator with a zero. Consider the iterative method that generates the sequence "Equation missing" by the algorithm "Equation missing" where "Equation missing" and "Equation missing" are two sequences satisfying certain conditions, "Equation missing" denotes the resolvent "Equation missing" for "Equation missing", and let "Equation missing" be a fixed contractive mapping. The strong convergence of the algorithm "Equation missing" is proved assuming that "Equation missing" has a weakly continuous duality map.
