Cyberinsurance

The design of the Internet contributes to a variety of security vulnerabilities. As every piece of software and hardware has some level of vulnerability to it, no amount of technology will ever completely eradicate risk. Cyberinsurance allows an organization to transfer the risk associated with the loss of data from the firm to the insurance provider. To date, cyberinsurance has not achieved the success that it was predicted; however, studies suggest that it is gaining momentum. As computer security threats continue to rise and additional cyberinsurance carriers enter the market with improved products, cyberinsurance will transition into a necessary risk management tool for organizations.
