The number of metastable states in the projection rule neural network

P Kuhlmann, Joachim K. Anlauf · Journal of Physics A Mathematical and General · 1994

We calculate the direct average ((N)) of the number of metastable states in the projection rule neural network by means of the saddle-point method. ((N)) is obtained as a function of the Hamming distance g to a given pattern, stability gamma and energy E. The critical storage capacity of the model is calculated. The examination of the energy dependence of ((N)) leads to lower bounds for the energies of the spin-glass states.
