Reengineering J2EE Servers for Automated Management in Distributed Environments

Takoua Abdellatif, Jakub Kornaś, Jean‐Bernard Stefani · IEEE Distributed Systems Online · 2007

Reengineering a legacy J2EE application server makes it easier to deploy and reconfigure, especially in distributed environments. The authors used an architecture-based approach to create JonasALaCarte, a reengineered version of the JOnAS open source J2EE application server. JonasALaCarte achieves gains in configurability and adaptability with no significant overhead to application server performance.
