Research on the Structure Design of Operating Systems

Hong Wang · Applied Mechanics and Materials · 2012

Operating system, as the core software, influences or even decides the performance of the whole computer system. And its performance is directly related to its structure. This paper discusses the classification of modular structure designs, shows some typical structures of operating systems, studies the composition and features of these structures, analyzes and compares performances of operating systems of different structures. Finally, it points out the trend for the structure design.
