On 4-5 April 1986, Rutgers University hosted a Colloquium on Transmission Problems in Medieval Chant. The Colloquium was organized in connection with the presence at Rutgers for the academic year 1985-86 of Professor Helmut Hucke from the 572 University of Frankfurt. Twelve speakers presented papers in the three scheduled sessions. Introductory remarks were delivered by Robert Moevs, Director of the Rutgers Graduate Program in Music. He welcomed over one hundred scholars and graduate students who gathered on the Douglass campus for the opening session on Friday afternoon.
