An implicit matrix inversion process

David John Evans · ACM SIGNUM Newsletter · 1980

An implicit iterative method for improving the accuracy of the inverse matrix is presented and shown to possess superior convergence properties over the well known quadratically convergent Hotelling method. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the new method. It is proposed that the new techniques may be useful in statistical analyses where matrix inverses are required.
