Transducer elctronic data sheet implementation within traditional precision microphones and array microphone systems

Consistent with the IEEE1451 standard development of smart sensors, microphones have been developed that can digitally report critical transducer characteristics. This new, standardized communication ability automates communication of calibration scaling and eliminates potential bookkeeping errors in large channel testing. Discussion includes the framework of the evolving standard, implementation in preamps/array microphone systems and practical examples of error reduction and time savings.
