Multiscale Selection and Detection of Signals

Issues of application of continuous and discrete wavelet transforms for solving problems of signal detection under the conditions of the a priori uncertainty, when the signal form is unknown, but data on its scale (time-bandwidth product) are available, are discussed. The proposed approach is based on the multiscale selection principle, i.e., the selection of coefficients in multiscale signal decomposition by means of discrete and continuous wavelet transforms.
