Visual feature identification for 3-D data sets
Dave Darmofal, Robert Haimes · 1991
Novel feature identification techniques for unstructured three-dimensional data sets are presented. These methods allow the user to quickly locate flow features of interest. A thorough discussion of the algorithms is presented with special attention focused on obtaining maximum interactivity. The effectiveness of these techniques is assessed by investigation of a complex vortical flow.
