Biometrics and identity fraud

This month's survey will address the intersection of biometrics and identity fraud. Specifically, it will discuss three topics: how biometric technologies improve upon alternative identification and authentication technologies in the fight against identity fraud; how biometric systems themselves can be targets of identity fraudsters and what countermeasures can be adopted; and societal and operational challenges and concerns which arise from the utilization of biometrics in combating identity fraud.
