Novel high- Q narrowband/notch digital filter

A periodically time-varying linear second-order digital filter is analysed. It is shown that the technique of periodically varying the coefficients leads to significant savings in coefficient word length in the design of notch and narrowbandpass digital filters having high-Q pole pairs.
