Insights into Fourier synthesis and analysis: part I - Using simple programs and equipment
Guy S M Moore · Physics Education · 1988
Unlike many studies of Fourier series this article requires neither the mathematical skill normally involved nor elaborate computer programs. Part ZIwill give a method of calculating the relative strengths of the harmonics in a given waveform not involving the normal integrals.Situations where young persons meet the consequences of Fourier series vary from the waveforms produced by musical instruments to wondering why a medium-wave radio set crackles during a storm or makes appalling noises when held near a calculator or a microcomputer.
