An alternative to regular lecture classes: a theory seminar in computer algorithms

Michael J. Bozonie · ACM SIGCSE Bulletin · 1989

Not every student has the same experience base. Putting all students into the same class setting without regard to experiences can be catastrophic for experienced students, inexperienced students and instructors. A course approach, called a theory seminar , combines the strengths of regular classes, independent studies, and evaluations of prior experiences. A theory seminar has been developed for a computer algorithms course.
