A Chance Mechanism of the Variation in the Number of Births Per Couple

S. N. Singh · Journal of the American Statistical Association · 1968

Under certain assumptions a probability distribution for the variation in the number of births per couple has been derived. The distribution involves several parameters. A procedure to find the B.A.N. [best asymptotically normal] estimates of the parameters is outlined. One example of the application of the distribution is discussed in some detail.
