Automatic Tracking of 3-bit Soft Decision Thresholds in Block Turbo Code based Forward Error Correction

A novel method for automatic tracking of 3-bit soft decision forward error correction thresholds is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. BER performance is successfully stabilized by application in conjunction with 10Gb/s block turbo code LSI.
