Diffusion Approximation of a Transport Process in Random Media

We address the problem of diffusion approximation of a transport process in a random mixture of diffusive and nondiffusive materials. We show that the diffusion approximation is valid provided that some hypotheses on the geometrical structure of the mixture are satisfied. The diffusion matrix is given by the Kubo formula. Some bounds on the diffusion coefficients are presented.
