Adaptive architecture for signal separation andinterference suppression in DS-CDMA systems

In multi-user DS-CDMA cellular communications systems, the conventional (MF) detector performs poorly, making no use of the structure of the interferers. Various detectors offering improved performance have been suggested. The authors describe a new architecture, the ‘hybrid’, which combines two known techniques, and offers better performance than is achieved seperately with either technique.
