Error propagation through the European demultiplexer hierarchy—an analysis

An analysis is given of the effect of error bursts on a 140 Mbit/s line system when terminated by a plesiochronous demultiplexer stack. The extended error activity at 8 Mbit/s is analysed in detail. Results show good agreement between software models and theory.
