Order transmission efficiency optimization in hierarchical organizations

Waldemar Czuchra · International Journal of Systems Science · 1985

This paper considers order transmission hierarchical organizations in which a decision-maker is situated in the root and executors in the leaves of a tree-like graph representing the structure of the organization. Reliability coefficients of transmission channels depend on quantities of allocated resources. The problem is to allocate a given amount of resource among all channels to maximize the efficiency of optimization. Descriptions of algorithms for one-level, two-level and multi-level organizations are included. The paper ends with remarks on the computational complexity of the algorithms and an example of their use.
