Cooperative Noise Attenuation in a Complex Wavelet Transform Domain

Chaoyong Peng, Ruizhu Huang · Proceedings · 2014

Summary We propose a new method for attenuating noise, especially coherent noise, in two or more inputs. The method is based on the assumption that several inputs have common desired signals and each of them is contaminated by a unique noise pattern. By separating events in a directional 2D complex wavelet transform, called the high angular resolution complex wavelet transform (HARCWT), the common components of the inputs can be distinguished and kept untouched. Uncorrelated noise components are attenuated.
