Differential pulse-code modulation

In this paper an analytical study of the double differential technique in PCM systems for speech signals has been made. It is shown that this double differential technique increases the channel capacity because of a reduction in magnitude of the difference signal and a minimization of the error power by quantization of a suitably chosen difference signal instead of the actual input signal.
