An LSI processor for automatic character reading

Michael Rahier, P. Jespers · 1979

Edge detection and thinning of a 32 × 24 digitized pattern have been performed on a single LSI chip. The output signal, a sequence of 3b vectors describing the skeletonized character contour, feeds a microprocessor which controls the recognition algorithm.
