Quantum statistical mechanics in the coherent-state phase-space representation

We present the extension to statistical mechanics of a mapping technique of the Wigner and Weyl kind, but based upon the coherent-state representation. The central theme is that of introducing an appropriate method for the evaluation of traces of unbounded operators.
