Web based Geo-Spatial and Village Level Information Extraction System using FOSS

Increase in the number of commercial and open source tools for geospatial applications have resulted in confusing environment among students / researchers, institutions and consultants while selecting software tools. Also geospatial software applications require more time and money in design and development. To demonstrate the use of free open source software (FOSS) for geospatial data management, a system was designed for extracting geo-spatial information content from spatial database and practical issues during development are described in this paper.
