Lower bound on the size of a 3-stage wide-sense nonblocking network
D. Geoffrey Smith · Electronics Letters · 1977
It is demonstrated that, for a 3-stage symmetrical link switching network, i.e. of the Clos Type v (m, n, r), the number of middle switches required for wide-sense nonblocking cannot be less than [2n − n/r] under a large class of packing rules.
