Magnetic forces on current circuits when there are no photons in the electromagnetic field
H. E. Moses · Journal of Mathematical Physics · 2007
In a previous paper we considered the quantized electromagnetic field when there were no photons. Since the number operator for the quantized electromagnetic field does not commute with the field operators, giving an eigenvalue to the number operator means that measurements of the field operators in an interval cannot be made exactly. One must content oneself with obtaining the probability distributions for the fields. In the present paper we shall carry out similar calculations for the magnetic fields.
