Forward link power control for cellular CDMA networks

The impact of power control on the forward link of cellular CDMA networks is examined and quantified. Results show that, depending on the threshold criteria, Rayleigh fading, and spatial traffic distributions under consideration, power control can increase the capacity in a cell by more than three times.
