As the technology is ceaselessly rising in direction of advancement, there emerges the need of enhancing the quality and downsides of the techniques for better outcome. Through this paper the authors study a few techniques of power efficient methods for the sensor nodes in wireless sensor networks (WSN). A wireless sensor network consists of large number of interconnected sensor nodes that communicate with one another by transferring the information from one node to another. Thus, the information ultimately passes to the processing center. Sensor nodes sense the information from environment, gather it and transfer this information further. All this requires energy consumption. Power dissipation is the con that makes the life of a WSN shorter. Many researchers have been emerged out to make the life of WSN better. This paper aims at the comparative study of some power saving techniques.
