A systematic technique of smart phone keyboard layout design for optimal text-messaging

Text messaging is one of the most used functionalities of mobile phones. However, current QWERTY keyboard layout is not ideal for typing text messages. The objective of this paper is to propose an “optimal” keyboard layout design technique that results in fast typing speed or ergometric easiness.
