4.1.1 System Architecture ‐ A View Perspective
Rodger F. Frank · INCOSE International Symposium · 1998
Abstract Development and deployment of large software systems are among the riskiest of business ventures. Lack of ability to depict, communicate and evaluate the overall architecture of the system ‐ to describe how the system works ‐ is the central issue to this risk. This paper proposes a solution to the system architecture problem. By considering the needed architecture views and view relationships first, then identifying the models needed to implement the views and relationships between them. The concept of architecture views is developed, an example of a necessary and sufficient architecture view set for a large software‐intensive system is provided and architecture relationships to specification and object design are also described.
