Janus: The Ideal Patron For Computing

JANUS IS ON THE “B” LIST OF THE ROMAN PANTHEON, NOT A MARQUEE STAR LIKE JUPITER, NEPTUNE, OR VENUS. HE DESERVES A HIGHER BILLING. THE BIG-TIME GODS AND GODDESSES ARE BUSYBODIES, GAZING FORWARD, MEDDLING IN THE FUTURE of gods and humankind, confident that they are improving the universe. They mix thunderbolts and other blunt instruments of intervention with jealousy, treachery, and manipulation.
