A SIMPLE CALIBRATOR FOR THE MEKOMETER

A system is described which will allow a Mekometer EDM instrument to be calibrated by the user who wishes to achieve the greatest possible accuracy. The operating frequency is compared with an off-air standard to an accuracy of better than one part per million. The calibrator was developed for use with the NPL prototype Mekometer III, results on the long-term stability being given by Froome and Bradsell (1977); however, it is fully applicable to the Kern ME 3000.
