Implementation strategy for high-order recursive filters

This paper describes a new method for partitioning a highorder all-pole filter into an interconnection of subsystems. It was found that conventional all-cascade and all-parallel implementations were unsuitable for reasons that are outlined and that the theory of filter implementations could be enhanced by appealing to polynomial theory.
