Improved upper bounds on Knudsen permeabilities through a bed of spheres

In a previous publication, a variational upper bound on the permeability of a porous medium to Knudsen flow was presented. The bounds were calculated for a model pore structure generated from randomly placed, freely overlapping solid spheres. In this paper, the improvement of these bounds is discussed.
