Three-electron systems in spherical parabolic GaAs quantum dots

Xie Wen-Fang, Chuan‐Yu Chen · Acta Physica Sinica (Overseas Edition) · 1998

By making use of the method of few-body physics, the energy spectra of low-lying states of a three-electron spherical dot have been calculated. The quantum-size effects on the energy spectra of three electrons are shown. The results show that the orders of energy levels do not change when quantum dot diameters change. As a result, the energies of the states of L = 3 k ( k = 1,2,...) fulfilling π(-1) L = 1 are lower than those of their adjacent states.
