A Data Processing Method Based on Principal Curve in Road Safety

Road operation and safety management has become the future research direction in the field of ITS. While the tremendous dates of traffic safety are the base of how to do the safety management. However, the features of data themselves make it very difficult to perform safety management standards according to these original data. Aiming at the nonparametric of traffic safety data, a data processing method based on principal curve in road safety is proposed in this paper. After processed by HS principal curve algorithm, traffic safety data could then be summarized by a principal curve. Research shows that principal curve summarize traffic safety data quite well, and could be regarded as the reference of performing regulate standards.
