REAL MATHEMATICS FOR NON-MAJORS
Lynne L. Doty · PRIMUS · 1995
Over the last decade mathematics education has been in the throes of fundamental reform. Most of the attention at the college level understandably has been directed toward the majors' curriculum-those courses primarily taken by mathematics, computer science, engineering, and natural science majors. Since this reform is well underway, we ought now to bring our energies to bear on the mathematics courses taken by non-majors. This paper details the effective use of topics in elementary graph theory in the design of a course that enables non-majors to experience the genuine intellectual satisfactions that mathematics offers.
