The StrongARM 11O/sup TM/ is the first example of a new generation of very high performance embedded processors. Developed by UK-based ARM Ltd. approximately ten years ago, the ARM microprocessor architecture is exclusively focused on low-cost and low-power applications. It is used extensively in consumer-oriented applications such as mobile phones, PDAs, organizers, and video games.
