Multigrid electrometry in the survey of archaeological remains

Viktor Fedorovich Alekseyev, Igor V. Zhurbin, D. V. Malyugin · Archaeological Prospection · 1996

The article describes the apparatus and software of a multi-electrode automated electric survey complex ‘Idnakar’. The methodical aspects of the designed complex application in surface mapping of archaeological sites and determination of spatial parameters of target objects are reviewed. The efficiency of application of the automated electric survey complex, worked-out measurement techniques and algorithms in determination of archaeological site layout without destruction of the cultural layer is shown on the basis of the results of investigations carried out at the medieval site of the ancient town-fortress Idnakar (Udmurtia). © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
