Software development productivity measurement

As the demand for software continues to rise faster than our ability to train new information systems professionals, we must seek to improve the productivity of software developers. Improvement of productivity in this context means producing the same systems with a smaller amount of resources. The research focuses on two separate questions: 1) "What are the appropriate measures of the outputs and inputs essential to the development of information systems," and 2) "What are the relationships among the input factors affecting productivity?"
