On the labelling and symmetry adaptation of the solvable finite group representations

The authors propose a method to simultaneously perform a symmetry adaptation and a labelling of the bases of the irreducible representations of the solvable finite groups. It is performed by defining a self-adjoint operator with eigenvalues which show the descent in symmetry of the irreps of the group-subgroup sequences. They also prove a theorem on the canonicity of the composition series of finite groups.
