With the start of a new year it's traditional – almost obligatory – to take a glance back at the 12 months just ended to see if there are trends to be divined or lessons to be learned. Security vendors, in particular, are keen to share their experiences. Security vendors are often best-placed to spot these trends. Sophos issued a report looking back over the past 12 months, and so Computer Fraud & Security took the opportunity to talk to Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at the firm. Mobile and Apple Mac malware featured large in the Sophos view of the year's security highlights. Plus there are predictions from a number of specialists on what the next year holds in store.
