Improving the performance of nonplanar systolic architectures through increased fan-out

We show that the performance of nonplanar systolic architectures implementing nonfeedback recurrences can be improved through increased processing element fan-out. As an illustrative example we demonstrate the speed improvement for matrix-matrix multiplication on a modified cylindrical array.
