An Electrical Computer for the Solution of Linear Simultaneous Equations
Abraham Many, Uri P. Oppenheim, S. A. Amitsur · Review of Scientific Instruments · 1953
An electrical computer, consisting of coils and condensers, for solving symmetrical simultaneous linear equations is described. It employs the network for diagonalizing matrices already described in two previous papers. The theory of the network, taking into account losses in the coils and errors in adjusting the condensers, is developed. By applying a simple correction to the measured solutions, the errors due to the losses in the coils are eliminated. The accuracy, which then depends only on the accuracy of adjustment of the condensers, is usually a few parts in a thousand.
