Postproduction sound is more realistic than production sound. This is based on theories of original sound, microphone limitations, sound perspective, acoustic space, hypersensitivity, and historical bias. Sound effects and surround sound play on emotion and mood, taking the audience out of the two-dimensional space of the film's screen.
