Abstracl-Defuzziflcationis an essential part of fuzzy rule base systems producing crisp values.Image processing, data analysis, supervision, and fault diagnosis applications require non-singleton output, e.g.regions of interest, class boundaries, or intervals of acceptance.These characteristic crisp subsets are determined using subset defuzziflcation.Closer investigations of the properties of this operator lead to the development of fast and efficient algorithms.
