Nature and detection of errors in production data collection

Improvements in data processing equipment, particularly large volume memory storage devices, have heightened interest in the advantages of the single recording of data at its point of-origin. Automated capturing of production data, its subsequent processing into information, and interrogation and display of that information have been recognized as a means of circumventing the restrictions of using historical data and of satisfying the feedback requirements to allow control of the dynamic, evolutionary production system.
