University Drug Research: Current State and Future Perspectives

Abstract Current state and future perspectives of university drug research are discussed and compared with the industrial point of view. Synergistic effects of cooperative research between industry and university are considered. Examples of university drug research from our group are given: i.e. determination of drug lipophilicity and optimization of calmodulin ligands.
